Two Leaflets

Must read

Som Nath Ghimire

Old Travelers

What happens to old travelers?
–When the restless suns cast a dark spell
When mornings flood with dead rivers!
Visions blacken
And Hills, woods, pines and plains are swept away
And blackness rules their kingdoms
Would they forsake journeys?
Would they forsake dreams and destinations?
Or regain visions brighter than the suns?

 Young Cuckoos

What happens to young cuckoos?
When their wings are clipped and flights denied
When their bills are stitched, rhythms denied
And tunes are subdued in tender throats
Would they forsake skies and spring songs?
Or revolt against their ancestors?

[ Mr. Ghimire has earned MA in English from Central Department of English, Kirtipur and is currently MPhil Scholar at Nepal Open University]
