The Modern Man

Must read

Prabesh Chapagain

Breathless, in a sea of meaninglessness, you and I
Oh! How hard we try?
To defy gravity!
Carrying everywhere a head-full of experience in a suitcase,
We always try to find our place.

Always in a limbo between ‘knowing’ and doubt; in this life
New graves we dig, for old ambitions and dreams.
Ceaselessly we walk in other people’s shoes,
And for all the crosses we have to bear, in far-flung ‘hope’ we look for solace
-Always trying to find our place

(Prabesh is an MA in English from Tribhuvan University)
