Rekha Yadav has entered literary arena as a published author with twin books. Her novel Atmaja in Nepali, and a poetry collection Tum Bin in Hindi were launched in Kathmandu on Saturday. In an event held at the auditorium hall of Nepal Academy, critic Mahesh Paudyal lauded the novel as a fine fictionalization of a Madhesi girls’ struggle for social and political success, and her crusade against dowry, child-marriage, underdevelpment, casteism and gender discrimination. Critic Purusottam Pokharel cited the collection Tum Bin as excellent versification of the tragic dimension of love. The novel has been edited by Binod Kumar Bishwakarma and Dilliram Sharma Sangrola, lecturers of Hindi at Tribhuvan University, while the anthology has been edited by Sangrola alone. Both the works have been published by Raj Kumar Thapa.

Speaking as Chief Guest, former Minister Upendra Yadav congratulated author Yadav for her feat. Prof. Sanjita Barma, Chair of the event, expressed her best wishes for the success of the works, while Hisila Yami, former Minister, observed the novel to be partly autobiographical, and the poems intimate, lucid and musical. Dilliram Sharma Sangrola, in his welcome address, shared the circumstances under which the twin books took their final shapes.

Rekha’s feat to present herself in Nepal and Hindi, none of which is her mother-tongue, has been highly appreciated by the literary community.
