The Word does not Sleep

Must read

Márcia Batista Ramos

The word does not sleep, it never rests.
In my language or yours, the word has a soul and a figure.
It is an insomniac image.
That accompanies us from birth.
Until the grave.
The word allows you to speak with those who are far away.
Write during sleepless hours.
Remember the past and dream the future.
The word allows traditions to be transmitted to all generations.
The word is the executor of the glory of the peoples.
Because, thanks to her, we can start over.
The word is virtuous.
And sacred too.
With it you write, Mother, Country, God.
And someone’s name.
The word serves to make a game.
The word is light in its own fire.
The word is a nest of feelings.
It is more melodious than instruments.
The spoken word is a blessing.
Written in verses, it is redemption.
The word does not sleep, it never rests.
It is the one that feeds all hopes.
