To the New Afghan Government

Must read

Eng. Santosh Kumar Pokharel

You hung Najibullah on the tree
Though I didn’t like it no way
See, I nothing did say,
You bombed the huge Buddha statues in Bamiyan
Here, my heart ached.
Your heart is hard as stone or even more
Your deeds everyone’s heart tore.
Speak out! What harm to you had they done?
Among those could have been your ancestor too
You all of us did stun.
Abandon radicalism now on! Implant a culture kind!
Don’t cover Afghan women with burqas I do remind
This is the twenty-first century.
Let free thoughts bloom,
Dispel the prevailing gloom
This but can be the way
Just because your Ashraf Ghani’s ran away
Winning the battle’s still far
Unless you win Afghan children who are the real star.
Women are not slaves. No dart!
Rather you win too their heart!
If you are serious to run the state now
Save the culture of others. Construe!
And live your culture in true.
You shall change yourself to fit this age’s demand,
To wipe out the terrorist brand
Compromise with your philosophy and religion
And win the hearts of the world.
“Why shouldn’t I destroy the settlement by firing and dropping bombs?
Easier to shoot all, kill and send off to the tomb. “
That madness is very good
It is very difficult to govern. Hope you now understood
No to a terrorist state! Now get your mindset hurled
Afghanistan cannot survive alone in the world.
So now choose the path of peace
This is the twenty-first century.
Afghan soil has soaked in human blood
Hindukush here smells no more
People are leaving the country, stop them!
They panic in their heart-core.
Now but you have none but to take to the peace root!
Don’t shoot the innocent citizens!
And don’t their riches loot!
The state power gained through mass killings
Against human lives, is futile
Humanity is scared with what you did erstwhile
Dear generous Pathans!
Respects this poet’s plea and turn history to the east again
And re-establish the glory of Afghanistan!
