Immortal Letters, a collection of poems by Mahesh Babu Timalsina was launched in a grand event organized at Everest Hotel in Kathmandu on Tuesday.  Organized by Kangaroo Creations Pvt. Ltd., the event was chaired by senior poet Gopal Parajuli, while poet and lyricist Dinesh Adhikari attended the launch as the Chief Guest. The book was launched collectively by Mr. Gopal Parajuli and Dinesh Adhikari, critics Laxman Prasad Gautam and Mahesh Paudyal, poet and journalist Dr. Naba Raj Lamsal, translator Mukti Ghimire and the poet himself.

Speaking on the occasion, translator Mukti Ghimire shared his experience and thrill in rendering the verses from Nepali into English. Critic Mahesh Paudyal said most of Timalsina’s poems are personal, romantic and lyrical though a few of them make social and political comments. Critic Laxman Prasad Gautam observed that the poems are capable of promising a glorious poetic career. He also assured the poet that he shall include his poems and profile in his upcoming history of Nepali poetry. Poet and media personnel Dr. Naba Raj Lamsal advised the poet to develop a style and tenor of his own to stand out in the mass.  Chief Guest Dinesh Adhikari said, the poems are pleasing and intellectually quite stimulating. Chair Mr. Parajuli welcomed the poems as antithetical to a cry for war and turmoil. Poet Mr. Timalsina thanked the guests and people for helping him accomplish the mission.

On the occasion, a few audio-visual deliveries were presented, which included a documentary on the poet’s life, a visualization of one of his poems and a song sung by Ram Krishna Dhakal and composed by Ajar Jangham. Poets Dr. Tulasi Acharya, Babu Tripathi, Jyoti Jungle and Bhojraj Ghimire recited poems from the anthology.

The anthology is a bilingual work that collects thirty poems in Nepali and English.
