A Habit

Must read

By Deepak Shrestha

A constant companion,
The greatest helper
Or the heaviest burden!
It pushes you onward
Or drags you down;
It’s completely in your command.

You do half the things;
It will do the rest in return
Manage it easily, you just stay firm
Show how you want the automation!

It serves great people and their failures
All it has is precision of a machine
and intelligence of a human it bears
So run it for profit or take it for ruin!

Take it, train it, be firm with it
It shall place the world at your feet!
With it better easy you be
Or get destroyed completely!

[Deepak Shrestha (b. 1981) is a poet and critic, based in Lalitpur, Nepal. He writes both and English and Nepal and is an avid reader. His creations and reviews have appeared widely in Nepal’s online and print media.]
