Caged

Must read

Suraj Raj Keshari

Away from the world, banished
In complete isolation
Is a poor soul, suffering
For no reasons

Morning gleams of the sun do not reach there
Sparkles of the moon stay away
Raindrops fail to touch him
And the wind cannot make its way to his place

He lacks fresh air to breathe
A free land to play around
A few people to talk to
And a good meal to satisfy his appetite

People, unaware of his innocence
Hate him for he is in confinement
Yet, no one tries to rescue;
Rather runs away from him

Love defriends him
Desires nag him
His dreams remain unfulfilled
And all hopes vanish

Crushed by huge iron bars are his plottings to be free
His life being spent in darkness,
All alone is he now
Caged!

[Suraj Raj Keshari is pursuing bachelor’s degree in engineering. He loves writing, speaking, innovating and exploring the world.]
