The Flow of Time

Must read

Sushant Thapa

I am sitting by a window;
The road is a colorful chameleon
With its mouth ajar.
I observe that speed is the time
That cannot be measured.
I cannot be sure of the intentions
By looking at the passers-by.
This nation might thrive or
It might sink to foreign dollars and aids.
I am trapped in a cage;
Still I sing the glory
For it is still unheard.
I can clearly remember the verses
From Kavi Shiromani’s poem;
The parrot of his time
Still caged today.
Have we caged ourselves
And thought about freeing other
Innocent creatures?
Flowers are all asleep;
Spring is not about waking
It is accepting the flow of time and
Being there for the coming days.
Rain cannot wash the fate
If the curse should befall.
Who should I rely upon
This shoulder of work or
The mighty loose verses
That my heart can write?
I am not against my will
Accepting the continuity.
