Mother

Must read

Bidhan Acharya
1
There is a portrait of my mother on the wall
I am afraid of it and go hiding while doing what I want
But when it comes to get rid of what I did
I beg with my mother by praying in front of her portrait

2
I don’t care about her when she is with me
When I am away from her and need blessings
I cry with her contemplating for my success
In every mission and work — seen and unseen

3
In pride of wellbeing, I don’t even notice her tears
The shawl of Mother is torn by my careless steps
When I fall ill, I remember her for my wellbeing
With drops of tear and a temporarily-broken heart

4
I forget her in cheers and mundane celebrations
Whereas she celebrates my day without forgetting
My amusement and funs become when burden to me
I close my eyes and pray to Mother to take me out of it

5
I pick up a cap searching from the bundle of clothes
That I never offered to her a piece of apparel as gift
But I searched the cap given by her as blessing
And put it on my head decoratively before starting a new job

6
You have taken nothing but have forgiven always
You have the amount of unlimited forbearance
Oh my mother, I want now you reside
Just in my heart, my mother, just in my heart!!
