Motivation Blues

Must read

Hem Raj Kafle

Oftentimes
Motivation sticks hard on you
Like that insatiable summer leech
That found a juicy vein;
And you stay wondering
To a maddening infinity
Whether to let it suck you dry
Or remove it with a salt-pouch.

Oftentimes
Motivation falls on the stones
Like that unfortunate aircraft
That crashed on a cliff;
And you stay wondering
To a maddening infinity
Whether to hook it up to you
Or jump headlong to it.

Oftentimes
Motivation flies to the stars
Like that crazy bird
That escaped a cage;
And you stay wondering
To a maddening infinity
Whether it swoops down to you
Or you soar up to it.

Oftentimes
Motivation dissipates
Like desert sand
Blown away by desert wind
And it builds up
Like desert sand
Piled up by desert wind.

And many a times
Motivation weighs heavy on you!
