Sinhala Version of Upreti’s ‘Paila Paila’ Launched in Colombo

Paila Paila, a Nepali novel by Nepali  author Bhisma Upreti has been launched in its Sinhala translation. Author Upreti informed TGT that the work published in Sinhala by Sri Lanka’s KP Publishers was launched during the week-long International Book Fair, running from September 18 to 27 in Colombo. The work was translated into Sinhala from English by Sri Lankan translator Basantha K. Mihindukulasuriya, while the English version was done by translator Mahesh Paudyal.

Author Upreti also informed TGT that the English version of the novel will be published from New Delhi in 2021.

The novel, modelled after a travel-fiction, features the story of a traveler, who witnesses life of the general people in the hinterlands of Western Nepal, especially the mountainous region. Many isolated and book-size works of Mr Upreti have been translated into international languages including English, Hindi, Japanese, Serbian etc.
