‘Ananda Upahar’ Launched on the Occasion of the 213th Bhanu Jayanti

On the occasion of the 213th Bhanu Jayanti, the second poetry collection by poet Tilak Pokharel, Ananda Upahar, was launched at a special ceremony held at the social hall of the Thai Nepal Association (TNA) in Bangkok.

The book was jointly unveiled by Nepal’s Ambassador to Thailand, Dhan Bahadur Wali, the chief guest at the event, and his wife, Meena Wali.

Following the launch, Ambassador Wali presented a review of the collection, stating that preserving the Nepali language and literature while continuing creative writing from abroad is a significant achievement. He expressed confidence that Ananda Upahar would make a positive contribution to Nepali literature.

Among the special guests at the ceremony were Shekhar Giri, Chairperson of Sajha Prakashan; Rita Khatri, President of the World Nepali Literary Foundation; Dr. Bindu Sharma, a member of the same foundation; Krishna Prasai, President of JARA Foundation Nepal; and Momila Joshi, President of Nepali Kalasahitya Dot Com Foundation.

The event was attended by representatives of the Embassy of Nepal, the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), the Thai Nepal Association (TNA), PNO, the Tamang Society, Newa Society, Magar-Gurung Society, Kirat Society, and the United Nations (UN), along with office-bearers of various Nepali organizations in Thailand, writers, social workers, and a large number of members of the Nepali community.

Ananda Upahar is Tilak Pokharel’s second collection of poems. The volume features poems that explore life, society, human emotions, love, the experiences of the Nepali diaspora, and contemporary realities.

According to the organizers, the program was held to mark the 213th Bhanu Jayanti with the objective of preserving and promoting the Nepali language, literature, and culture.
