Nepal Yatra 2020, a week-long exhibition of art works made by Nepalese artist P. Singh was launched by Nepal’s Ambassador to the UK, Dr. Durga Bahadur Subedi at the premises of the Embassy on Tuesday. According to a press note released by Project Psk Art Coordinator Dr. Sangita Shrestha to the media, artist P. Singh was felicitated by the Ambassador on the first day of the exhibition amid a function held at the Embassy among a small number of Embassy staff, keeping social distancing measures intact.
“We are very proud to have Artist P. Singh’s paintings exhibited at the Embassy. This indeed is a great moment to recognise his effort to promote Nepal in the United Kingdom,” said Ambassador Subedi, the press release informed. “The Embassy of Nepal, London is hosting Nepal Yatra 2020 art exhibition from 18-24 September with an aim to promote Nepal and Nepali culture through paintings of artist P. Singh,” the Ambassador is quoted to have said.
The artworks exhibited include acrylic and water color paintings capturing Nepal through it breathtaking landscapes, architecturally rich ancient temples/monasteries, and portraits and traditional costumes representing diverse ethnic groups.
“The exhibition attempts to raise awareness about Nepal and share its beauty,” said Artist P. Singh, a software engineer by profession. He takes up painting as his hobby during leisure.
