The Song of Carpet Weavers

Must read

Avinash Shrestha

Avinash Shrestha

Angnima when touches the wool
First of all weaves rice for her family, weaves daal
To get the body wrapped, she weaves a paltry cotton.

And weaves the sky, weaves the wind
Moon she weaves; she weaves the sun
She also weaves the name of her country a little.

Water, stream, mountain, mist
The chirping of birds, the scent of the soil
The sweet whistle of the forest – she weaves them all
Angnima does this all when she touches the wool.
