Woman and the Lama

Must read

Romisha

On the way of life
carrying the load of her destiny
a woman passes her way
absolutely lonely.

***
Closed like a lotus bud
in the layer of her eyes
passion goes rising
sorrow remains underlying
silent since her origin.

***
When she looks herself into the mirror
she has pricking sensation in skin
underlying in her innermost
frozen with trembling cold of solitariness
in the lonely journey of a woman’s life
her mind captured with darkness
is drawn repeatedly
towards the illusion of love
but she can’t expose that
for the fear of black shadow of slur
repressing her reputation.

***

Restless for casting a slur
before the eyes of the whole of the society
fear stands like a mountain
like drops of rainwater
on leaves of lotus plants
woman’s trembling inner mind
looks towards the sky of her imagination
and collects moonlight falling in drops
as holes of the Earth
do with the drops of rainwater
to save life within her.

***

On the illusionary meeting point of
reality and imagination of life
her pain takes a pause
her experience
goes deeper with the passage of night
she kisses the Moon
raising her mouth towards the sky
with the affection and confidence of the Lama
whom she had seen once
kissing the huge statue of the Buddha
two drops of tears had rolled down his eyes
even the woman’s eye – lids get soaked in tears.
