SHE↔HE

Sajan Regmi

She was born he,
Being male was set free.
Masculine on other’s spot,
But Feminine from heart.

Barbie dolls and make-up kits,
As a child he select.
Thinking mind of kid,
Everyone then neglect.

With every passing year,
He grew up more girlish.
Now no one are willing to accept,
Rather, every day he is punished.

As a child, he always learned to be real,
Today, expressing himself as her she only has fear.
Loved, praised, and supported in childhood,
But today no one cares.

Confused him, with her own feelings and emotions,
Is left alone full of tears.
Family, society and even friends don’t except his herness,
Even god betrayed him, with whom would she share?

Being himself, her identity is trapped,
Willing to fight for own, even the law on her face slapped.
Sleepless nights, cried for ages,
Blamed god, the way he complicated her life’s phase.

Awesome childhood, confused teenage, hated adulthood and lonely old age,
Life turns out to be an open cage.
Frustration, pain, hatred and full of craze,
But he controlled all her rage being the example of sage.

At the end his patience pays the best,
Now accepted by the rest.
Full of agony, her life he paints,
Yes, not normal as she is different
As she is different.
