12th Annual Convention of INLS Japan Elects Rabin Sharma as Its President

The 12th Convention of the International Nepali Literary Society (INLS) Japan Chapter and its 60th Literary Series was organized at Solmari Restaurant in Tokyo. The Convention elected Rabin Sharma as President and Arun Poudel as Senior Vice President of the Chapter for the next term. Similarly, Ananda Adhikari and Savina Regmi were elected Vice Presidents, Sharad Pokharel the General Secretary, Rajendra Poudel and Anil Kumar Nirdosh teh Secretaries and Prakriti Phuyal the Joint Secretary of the organization.

Deepa Ghimire was elected Treasurer while the newly elected executive members include Minraj Bastola, Sajina Moktan, K.B. Parkhi, Manju Giri “Ban”, Bishu Bhandari, Narayan Pokharel, Manoj Mausam KC, Balram Upadhyay and Bindu Dhakal. The remaining three members will be nominated by the first meeting of the working committee.

The program was presided over by the President of the Chapter Girija Gahre, in the presence of the third secretary of the Nepalese Embassy in Japan Prem Baral and the Chief Guest of the event, INLS Central President Prakash Poudel Maila. Among the guests were former President of the organization Dinesh Raj Gyawali, Alok Chalise, Bishnu Prasad Ghimire, Deep Pathak and social worker Deepak Subedi, INLS Board of Trustees member Grisma Poudyal, President of Federation of Nepali Journalists Mohan Ghale, journalists Gokarna Adhikari, Shant Pahari and Laxmi Poudel.

Representatives of various Japanese organizations were also present at the event.

Deepak Subedi, the main sponsor of Sakura Phulda, the mouthpiece of the organization and a social worker, praised the role of INLS Japan and said that he was happy to help the organization from his end. He also wished the new working committee a successful tenure.

The sixth issue of Sakura Fulda was jointly released by the guests at the event. The issue was ‘Women Special issue’.

The program was made even more glorious by the recitation of literary creations by more than 30 authors.

The program was chaired by the outgoing president Girija Gahre. Vice President Sumit Giri welcomed the guests in the event conducted by the General Secretary Rabin Sharma.
