Protest and Poetry

Sushant Thapa

Here, fought is the peace
Raised is the weapon of tussle.
A fight lasts in politics of mutuality.
Reconciliation and seeds of thought
Get killed before they germinate to the health of the nation.
When poetry becomes protest
Artist dies a silent death.
Nation demands protest to become poetry
To flow like the consoling stream
To wash its people with conscience, patience and responsibility.
A thousand death lives inside the artist
When he searches his own country in his art
It sounds patriotic, although
An artist forgets the attribute of his craft
And keeps beautifying the pain of his heart.
