‘Corona’, a Maithili novel by scholar and folklorist Dr. Ramdayal Rakesh has been published. Probably the first Maithili novel to hit the bookstands during the Corona era, the novel narrativizes different aspects of life during the Corona Pandemic. According to sources, the novel is due for launch any time soon.
Dr. Rakesh is a professor of Hindi, who retired from Tribhuvan University. A folklorist, writer, critic and translator of high repute, he is also the winner of the prestigious Fukuoka Prize from Japan. He is also the former Chief of the Department of Culture at Nepal Academy.
