Russia-based Nepali writer and translator has passed away. According to family sources, Mr. Shrestha breathed his last in Russia on Sunday at the age of 82. Mr. Shrestha is credited to making immense contribution to the development and internationalization of Nepali literature through creation, translation and radio programs. He will be especially remembered for his contribution of Nepali children’s literature and Nepal-Russia literary relations through the translation of literatures in the two languages. His seminar works include Rusma Nepalko Addhyayan, Sthan Nam Kosh, Nepal Bhasha Sahitya, Rusma Nepalko Chhabi, Rusi Sahityako Itihas etc. He translated several works of Russian writers like Pushkin, Tolstoy and Dostoevsky into Nepali. Winner of Pushkin Gold Medal and Jagadambashri Award, Mr. Shrestha’s contribution to Nepali and Newari literature is also commendable.
Krishna Prakash Shrestha passed away on 29 March, Sunday, in Moscow hospital.
