The Angry Mars

Prabesh Chapagain

Red, the angry Mars
Looks down upon me
As I drag this eternal load
-Of being!

Grey, this humanly existence
Oh! How grew is this humanly existence
Each moment, everyday
I stuff my brain with accumulation!
For every assumption,
Once going for, another, against the motion

Hustling each day, to better this life
-a reality’s wonder for some
And for others the Almighty’s dream-
Each second, every day
I try to find myself within!

But at times when my prowess I’ve lost
I find no merit by reason,
And no advantage through time
Then from underneath my ‘being’
The phantom within
Sways in!
Befuddled, I rake pseudo riddles for a bloody rhyme
Why do I have to live on borrowed time?

Humanitarian, a sweet lie
A façade festooning our big ego
To conceal its raggedness
Of bastard knowledge and circumstances swag
Choices to destiny, and our destiny is like a rag

‘I’ am by hand ambition.
And by head ‘I’ am a tyrant
Yet myself, I have drawn the line
And in between, stuffed a thousand reasons
To separate ‘them’ from ‘I’

My sweet, pale, blue love
Oh, my pale, sweet, blue love!
Why is it that your lover tainted by the maroon fray of destiny?
Burnt by the fire of separation
It ever mourns unison with the absolute!
