The Colors of Spring

Kuma Raj Subedi

Sun like bindi when you wear,
Smear lips with colors of dawn,
Swirling hairs like blue-sea tides
Enter my red tender heart;

Velvet like soft skinned hands
When touch my visage,
Bright orange marigold like-
Volcano of affection erupt
Delving deep in blue eyes
find silver pearls of love-
Close ’em tightly,
Want to remain till eternity.

Sonorous sounds of words you whisper
Put me to sleep–
Dream of you sailing a ship
To a green island of peace–
we negotiate the precious price
Of sublime blunder–
we commit each night–
Your letters–
scriptures carved in turquoise leaves of belief
Never go yellow and fall off
In island of spring
Where orange sun rises and sets
With sacred crimson in your forehead.
