Worried Moon

Sushant Thapa

There is no epic
Written without the loss of fate;
Even when reality of life clings on the cliff as a vantage point.
Losing the battle at the ground
A soldier draws the worried lines on his forehead.
They teach him how to win
But he is afraid to know how to bear the loss.
Like a worried moon,
He still hangs himself in the darkened sky of fate;
Cursing the humanity left in him and others.
They bound him to think —
Destiny is the song of loss.
He is like the moon
Worried about the sunshine.

Sushant Thapa (b.1993) is a Nepalese poet from Biratnagar, Nepal. He is the author of the book “The Poetic Burden and Other Poems.”
