Bal Krishna Sama
This is last wish, Shiva, my Lord!-
May the herbs of Nepal alone,
Sweetly and coolly kissed by the Himalayas,
Be put into the mouth of mine
When I shall be struggling with pain and agony
On my death-bed that will, burning excessively,
be exhausting my blood !
“May this Nepal remain free and be flourishing ever,
May this creeper of peace and prosperity grow
and cover the king and his people !”
Let me send this massage with my head on the bank of the river
To the place where does reside Lord Shiva
my hope beyond my cremation.
Let me breathe my last in peace happily seeing Nepal
At the time when the temple bells ring
“So be it !” in response.
May the dead body of mine get anointed
with paste of sandal wood
And may my shroud be the coarse cloth made
by a lovely Nepalese hand!
Let me burn myself on the pyre common of my dear,
lovely Aryaghat1,
With the camphor, sandal wood and holy basil of Nepalese woods!
Let me after death reside at a heavenly place
Where are all Nepalese getting rebirth after their death !
