Nepalese Society for Children’s Literature (NESCHIL) has elected a new executive body for the year 2021-23 under the Chairmanship of Dr. Dhruva Ghimire. According to the election result declared by Matrika Pokharel, Chief of the Election Committee on Saturday in Kathmandu, Chair elect Ghimire sidelined his rival Kedar Shrestha by a margin of 39 votes. Dr. Ghimire is Professor of Nepali at Saraswati Multiple Campus, Tribhuvan University.
Office bearers elected to other posts include Pramod Pradhan (Vice President), Yashu Shrestha (General Secretary) and Yadevi Dhakal (Secretary). Those elected central executive members are Sushila Pradhananga, Sajani Naubage, Ekaram Singh, Uddhav Pyakurel, Shanti Sapkota and Manju Gyawali. Rajendra Bhakta Shreshta had been elected Treasurer uncontested soon after the nomination of the candidates.
NESCHIL, the most premier organization of Nepalese writers of Children’s Literature elects its executive body through direct election for a term of two years. For the first time, the Society also made provisions for online voting, besides the traditional physical voting.
