Chitawan Sahitya Parishad, a literary organization working in the district of Chitawan has decided to award three authors in different categories. According to a press note issued by Parishad Chair Surendra Astafal, senior prose writer Maya Thakuri will be honored with Chisapa Gayatri-Saraswati Literary Award. Chisapa Krishna Kumari Gurung Literary Award will be conferred on Banglung-based young novelist Meenraj Basanta for his novel Pipiri, while Chisapa Krishna-Krishnaa Literary Award will be conferred on Chitawan-based novelist Nani Bibu for her novel Anukrosh.
According to sources, the awards will be distributed on 2 January on the occasion of the 137th birth anniversary of poet Lekhanath Paudyal. All the awards consist of a cash prize of 15035 rupees, and a citation each.
