Darjeeling-based writer MB Pradhan is no more. According to family sources, he breathed his last at his at Fortis Hospital, New Delhi on Wednesday at the age of 88. Mr. Pradhan was suffering from cancer, and had recently undergone a surgery of gall bladder. He was cremated in Delhi on the same day.
Mr. Pradhan has several books and isolated creations to his credit. His seminal publications include Naya Itihas, Samajik Siksha (part 1 and 2), Sugam Nepali Vyakaran tatha Rachana, Guide to English Idioms and Phrases, Teach Yourself Nepali, Kalimpongka Graham Baje (translation), Sadharan Gyan (part 1 and 2), and Manka Lahar ra Raharharu. Winner of the prestigious Sahitya Academy award from the Government of India, Mr. Pradhan was also associated with many literary organizations and educational institutions in and around Darjeeling.
