Three Writers Honored with ‘Ambassador for Peace award’

Universal Peace Federation Nepal organized ‘Ambassador for Peace’ award ceremony at the Peace Embassy Building in Kathmandu on December 28. Three celebrated and renowned writers were honored with the ‘Ambassador for Peace’ award. The Chief Guest, UPF -Asia Pacific Chairman Mr. Eknath Dhakal, provided the awards.  The recipients of the awards are poet and essayist Bhisma Upreti, media person Ram Krishna Manandhar and poet Santosh Kumar Pokharel.

Speaking as the Chief Guest, Eknath Dhakal threw light on the mission of Universal Peace Federation to promote interdependence, mutual prosperity and universal value. As Special Guest, UPF-South Asia, President Santos Kumar Poudel also congratulated the newly awarded Ambassadors for Peace.

Recipient of the Ambassador for Peace award, celebrated writer Bhisma Upreti said, “It is such a prestigious award, and I hope I will be more responsible to help our society for universal peace.” Another awardee, media person and writer, Ram Krishna Manandhar said, “Media is extremely important to transmit information to society; so my role will be to spread the message of peace.” Former reader, engineer Santosh Kumar Pokharel said, “I am determined to spreading the messenger of peace through literature.”

The Secretary General of UPF- Nepal Binod  Dangi concluded the event by giving an inspiring vote of thanks.
