Srashta Samaj Honors Khakurel and Roshi

Nepal Srashta Samaj has honored senior poet Ramesh Khakurel and novelist Anupam Roshi on the occasion of its 13th Foundation Day on Saturday. Poet Khakurel was honored with Subhadra Bishwaraj Literary Honor, comprising of a citation and cash prize of 21,111 rupees, while novelist Roshi was honored with Prasiddha Kanel Youth Literary Award, comprising of a citation and cash worth 11,111 rupees. The awards were distributed by Chief Guest, senior writer and editor of Abhivyakti, Mr. Nagendra Raj Sharma, in an event held in Kathmandu on Saturday under the chairmanship of poet Bidhan Acharya, the President of Nepal Srashta Samaj.

The General Assembly of the Samaj also elected a new executive body for the next term under the chairmanship of poet Bidhan Acharya. Novelist and essayist Shreeom Shrestha Rodan was elected Vice President, while poets Pushpa Khanal, Nawaraj Timalsina and Janu Dhital were elected General Secretary, Treasurer and Secretary respectively. Eight other writers were elected members to the Samaj’s executive committee. The newly elected body was sworn in by poet Pawan Aalok, Coordinator of the Election Committee.
