Five Poems

Bhuwan Thapaliya

1. A Bride

Let the sun set on me.
Let its crimson sweat
of ferocity
spill all over me.
My heart is ready
for the chill
of the darkness.
I put my
best shirt on
and wait for
a bride of the light.

2. Seed

God gave
us a mind
but not
thoughts.
Life is our
opportunity
to cultivate
thoughts.
Yet, in the
field of thoughts
mind is only
a ploughman;
the seed
is the heart.

***

3. Time Heals Nothing

Time heals nothing.
It just formats our brain
and makes it empty again
deleting the history files
stored in the memories
of this disc called mind.

***

4. Ignorance

We preach, we scream,
we discuss, and we think,
we know the world very well.
But the world says nothing;
it just slants its head
with a goofy smile
and unfolds our ignorance.

***

5. Emancipation

I know
I am emancipated;
I’m beginning to
see the world
much purer
than the world
sees me.
