Sajan Regmi
One silent apartment of two rooms
Two days of living, waiting for the doom.
2 AM in the dark morning
Soul inside was burning
Was dipped into an ocean of dreams
Heard footsteps approaching me.
A peaceful frozen night
Someone knocking the door twice
With questions in mind, opened the door
Shocked not to find anyone out there.
Closed the door with intense fear
Went to the freezer, grabbed two beers
knock knock, the sound kept repeating
Went to bed, sneaking and creeping.
Fell asleep, don’t know when
Had a dream of an old man
Entered through a closed door
On a broken chair he sat
On shoulder carrying a black cat.
The black cat jumped over me
A terrified me broke out of sleep
Wet full of sweat
Full of agony but very quiet.
Played soft pleasant tune
Two days of living waiting for the doom.
Two days of living waiting for the doom.
