Former Nepal Chair at Banaras Hindu University, India and Associate Professor at Tribhuvan University Butawal Multiple Campus, Dr. Shiva Prasad Poudel passed away on Monday, following fatal injuries in a road accident. According to sources, Dr. Poudel breathed his last at a hospital in Butawal where he was undergoing treatment. Dr. Poudel was well-recognized as a scholar of folk literature, research methodology and Eastern languages and philosophy. He has authored and edited several books.
The post Dr. Poudel held at BHU as Nepal Chair was created in 2012 according to an agreement between Nepal Government and Embassy of India in Kathmandu. Accordingly, Nepal sends one professor for the post, while India sends professors to the department of Hindi and Political Science at Tribhuvan Univeristy.
