Poet and Lyricist Milan Passes away

Noted poet, singer and lyricist Shambhu Kumar Milan has passed away. According to family sources, the 71 year old poet breathed his last at Dhulikhel on Saturday. He had been tested positive for corona.

Milan,  who has more than 300 ghazals and songs in record, was one of the most cherished songsters from Nepal. He was a member of the Academic Assembly of Nepal Academy, and a senior singer and composer at Radio Nepal. His published works include song collections Saugat and Astitwa. Yatra, Dhoka and  Jijibisha are his collections of poems, while Timro Saharma, Pattharko Mutu and Pranaya Rag are his anthologies of ghazals. He also wrote a short epic Nirmala and a poetic travelogue, Aankhama Japan, Mannma Nepal.

Milan’s last rites were performed in Kathmandu on Saturday.
