Kedar Man Vyathit
Rippling, rippling with laughter,
Kites are sporting in the sky.
Like the imagination of the earth,
Rapt in the spirit of a resurrection new,
They soar, a-wandering round the shore
Of the celestial river, undulating with the waves
Of consciousness.
Rippling, rippling with laughter,
Kites are sporting in the sky.
Hope in their hearts, light in their eyes,
A tempest in their motion,
With faith in the vermillion of a blooming victory,
They soar towards a goal of light.
Rippling, rippling with laughter,
Kites are sporting in the sky.
The upper air upon them presses down,
Like obstacle’s heavy-weight,
As they shoulder it up on the starry path
They soar higher and higher still
They link the boundaries of heaven and earth.
Rippling, rippling with laughter,
Kites are sporting in the sky.
They go up in a spiral flight
Up the ladder of the air.
They wander about the heaven ideal;
Like Benignity slipping down the air
With pleasure.
Rippling, rippling with laughter,
Kites are sporting in the sky.
They feel that life becomes an illuminated ornament
In proportion as they soar,
Like the rich utterances of a poet’s heart
Embodied in their flight.
Rippling, rippling with laughter,
Kites are sporting in the sky.
