Naresh Neupane
I was curious in my childhood
So, I went to roam about in the wood
In the dense wood something I heard
It was a little singing bird.
I asked him: Why are you so high?
All could listen—that’s why;
The song was very nice
So, I requested him to sing it twice.
The bird said, “Thank you, child!”
And asked me “Why are you in the wild?”
I replied, “I am roaming here
And for enjoying the fresh air.”
The bird said, “Let’s sing together,
Because it’s a cool weather!”
I said, “I am sorry; I can’t sing.”
Because it was for me a new thing.
Then the bird asked, “What do you know?
You aren’t singing with me, so?”
I used to run and gaily play
Body smeared with mud and clay.
The bird shouted from a height,
Saying me, “Bye-bye little child.”
Spread his wings and flew so high
And got vanished in the sky.”
