The Mother’s Call

Must read

M.B.B. Shah

Weeping and crying loud and long,
The Mother says, “Not mine are these;
The issues who differ so much.

“Some of them in luxury roll
While others grovel in the dust;
I have no heart to look upon
The issues who differ so much.

“Among them some have naught to wear
While others use the softest silk;
I cannot look at them”, the Mother says,
“The issues who differ so much.”

“Some of them live in castles grand
While others dwell in the humble hut;
I have no heart to put up with
The issues who differ so much.”
