Maya Thapa
I wish for nothing
but your company
to have a cup of tea
every morning
looking at dust specs
dancing in sunrays
streaming through the window edge!
I have cups, varieties of tea
nice set of utensils
luring on the table,
two cups—
one full
other empty.
The chair at the other end
empty!!
We’re rich; we have everything
only that we have no TIME!
I wish for nothing
but an hour’s time
to walk with you
down the woods
up the sea
fingers of your right hand
intertwined with those on my left one.
You have hours
I have hours too;
yes ! the boring hours !
There is a sea, calling
there are woods, welcoming,
I’m complete; you are in my heart
only that we have no TIME!
I wish for nothing
but weekend eves
with friends of mine
in spontaneous laughter
with favorite drinks of our choices
chat, overlooking the clock!
I have friends
across the sea
and miles away;
we plan
for years and years now
and promise to be
together one day.
I’m rich; I have friends in heart,
bottles of nice wine
and free weekends.
We just lack the right TIME
with right people
in the right place!
