Wishes

Must read

Goma Adhikari

The heart throbs inside an ephemeral body
Where, minor wishes flicker
In intermittent twinkles.
I have no wishes to kiss
The summit of a mountain
Drink an ocean off my palm-cups
Take stock of the unfathomable sky
Or make a celebration of high dignity.
Allow me, instead,
To become that tiny particle in the mist
That every morning gets decked
With the color emanating from the east
Sends forth the luster of pearls
Moves the world to joy
Smirks for a moment
And gets lost in no time.
