Snow Leopard ‘Ang Rita’ Passes Away

Mountaineer Ang Rita Sherpa, popularly known as the ‘Snow Leopard’ passed away in Kathmandu on Monday. According to family sources, Sherpa as running sick for quite some time. The 72 years old mountaineer breathed his last at daughter’s home in Boudha on Monday morning. He was suffering from liver and other ailments, following a stroke in the recent time. Mr. Sherpa made a world record by climbing Mount Everest ten times without oxygen. The achievement has been mentioned in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Serku Sherpa, a tourist guide and researcher, told TGT that Ang Rita was a pioneer of literary tourism in Nepal, and was always amicable, inspiring and positive.
